Would like to send a huge amount of thanks to Matt, Andy and the team. Our loft conversion looks fantastic, much better than we could have ever imagined. From the very start, the service we received was exceptional, from George and his thorough explanations and multiple revisions to our plans, to Chris, Josh, Brad, & Mark who worked meticulously and non stop with the initial major building work, always arriving on time and leaving the house spotless, to Jamie who was really flexible with our electrics, James & his plumbers who worked seamlessly around everyone else, to Dan the plasterer who worked independently throughout the week & produced stunning walls & curved ceilings, Nick whose woodwork finished everything off beautifully. In addition the team of carpenters who fitted the stairs did so with ease and without fuss. We were very unsure what to expect, but can safely say that throughout the entire build (4 weeks start to finish for an bedroom with en-suite) mainly during the school holidays, we hardly realised we had the builders in. The whole team were a pleasure to have around, always polite & very hard working. They could not do enough to relieve any worries and questions we had throughout. Where do I start?! We couldn’t have been more delighted with all aspects of the work and service from AMD. We were nervous about committing to such a large project but we needn’t have been. George met with us for over an hour and took detailed measurements around the house. He was always happy to answer questions (and I ask a lot!!) and made us feel immediately at ease. We had seen four other loft conversion companies by this point and AMD instantly felt different. We received a fantastically detailed quotation (a line by line cost breakdown on an excel spreadsheet showing what every element of the job would cost right down to fitting the guttering) along with details on their insurance, some drawings and overview of the guarantee. Again, this was miles apart from the competition in terms of detail at this stage in the quotation process. We were delighted to see that AMD were in fact the most competitive of all the companies although I think we’d already decided they were the builders for us before we saw the price! Not only that, but they could start within 6 months rather than the crazy waiting time of 18 months given by another company! These guys only work on one job at a time and don’t spread themselves thinly over several projects so they are able to cover more jobs in less time. Work started very promptly by a super courteous and efficient team led by Matt and his second in command, Chris – not forgetting Matt’s dad, Andy, who was on site almost every day to oversee things. Matt was simply fantastic to work with. He went above and beyond on several occasions which I will always be grateful for – thanks again for that, Matt!! These guys work fast and smart – it’s impressive to watch. They also come up with alternative suggestions as the build unfolds such as changing the layout of the en-suite to fit in an even bigger shower which had no impact on the cost. Each morning we received a text/WhatsApp outlining the plan for the day which was so useful as both my husband and I had often left for work by the time they arrived. By the time we got home they had often exceeded the plan for the day. They tidied up brilliantly with the carpet actually being cleaner than it had been in a long while! The build was basically finished in 5 and a half weeks – excellent!! The quality is fantastic and we are thrilled with the end result. Our 2 year old son still talks about the ‘men’! Thank you to all of the AMD team for making this a totally painless exercise – we hope that we can use you again the future! We have already recommended you to four other people. Having a loft conversion is a major investment for anyone and the costs are far from insignificant. We decided to look for a well established company offering considerable expertise. When I spoke to Andy…he was fielding enquiries at the time…I was encouraged that I had found a fully professional company. Within a short time Matt…the Company belongs to him…contacted me and we arranged a loft inspection and to talk things over. Matt was very thorough and his expertise was very evident. Within a few days we received a quote that was inclusive and covered many options…flooring choices for example.. We weres happy to accept the quote immediately…and we set a provisional time line. We were fortunate that Matt was able to move the projected time line forwards for us. The scaffolding was errected and from that point onwards…everything fell into place perfectly. The crew that work for Matt are all highly motivated and skilled craftsmen…nothing was too much trouble and they were polite and helpful. It did not take too long before it was time for plasterwork…the first fix plumbing and electrical work in place. Carpentry followed and this included the flooring …the bathroom tiling and installation was showroom quality…the icing on the cake! The whole project was completed in time..in full…six weeks to the day. We are truly delighted and have no hesitation in recommending AMD lofts to anyone looking for a fully professsional loft conversion start to finish..
